Can't save file as SMF

Postby ldp645 » Mon Sep 05, 2016 2:33 pm

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

I have purchased file(s) from Song Galaxy, and after editing some aspects, I now want to save them for use as SMF. However, my DAW will not allow me, as the letters 'SMF' are struck through with two lines. I'm assuming some copyright information has been added integrally? Whilst I appreciate this, if it's the case, it renders the files unusable, as I wanted to take a midi file into the studio on a flash drive. The only thing to do now, is to take the whole DAW into the studio and record into their gear via midi out.
Someone please tell me there's an easier way round this?

Thanks, I'm anticipation!

Hi Liam,
Thanks for your purchases and your enquiry. Our MIDIs are not copy-protected, so it's not that. SMF stands for Standard MIDI File (file extension .mid) which all our MIDI files are already. So you shouldn't need to convert.
Which DAW are you using? Perhaps you can send us a screenshot of the saving stage where it doesn't let you save.. You might not be able to upload images here but can send a screenshot to
